Hollow Knight: Silksong – Team Cherry Already Planning DLC Content

With just two weeks until the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong, Team Cherry is already looking beyond launch. In a recent interview with Bloomberg, co-founders William Pellen and Ari Gibson revealed that additional content is in the works, with some projects described as “particularly ambitious” by Gibson.

The development model follows the precedent set by the original Hollow Knight, which received four free DLCs adding new quests, bosses, and gameplay rebalancing. While no release dates or detailed content have been confirmed, Pellen emphasized that post-launch support is just as important as the initial release. Team Cherry aims to expand the world of Pharloom, the new territory in Silksong, with depth and richness comparable to the extensions of the first game.

This approach reflects a commitment to creating a living game rather than a static product, ensuring long-term engagement for fans. Announcing DLC plans ahead of release is an unusually transparent move for a studio known for its minimalistic communication style.

Hollow Knight: Silksong launches on September 4, 2025, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2, and will be available on Game Pass from day one.

Fans can also celebrate the release with official merchandise at HollowKnight-Merch.com, featuring apparel, collectibles, and more to bring the world of Hallownest home.
