Just over a month after its long-awaited release, Hollow Knight: Silksong has received a brand-new update. Team Cherry continues to refine Hornet’s journey through the mysterious world of Pharloom, and version 1.0.28891 is now live on PC, with console versions expected to roll out soon.
Polishing the Experience
Following the game’s release on September 4, 2025, the first few patches mainly focused on balance adjustments and bug fixes. This latest update stays true to that trend, bringing quality-of-life improvements, gameplay tuning, and several fixes for stability and performance.
One of the biggest highlights of this patch is the official support for the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, now fully compatible on both PC and PS5. The game will also now automatically pause when a controller is disconnected, saving players from untimely defeats during intense boss fights.
Team Cherry has also resolved a number of smaller controller-related issues, with more fixes expected in future updates.
Gameplay Balance Tweaks
The developers have fine-tuned several aspects of combat in this patch. Some of Hornet’s techniques now deal slightly more damage, making battles flow more smoothly, while the Storm Thread ability has been toned down at higher needle levels to maintain game balance.
Additionally, Fine Pins—an important collectible for one of Silksong’s side quests—now appear more frequently, though players will need a few more of them to complete the related objective.
